2002 i35 Daytime Running Lights

Hi crew, new here today and already have a question. I am from Canada and was visiting in Phoenix. Some clown boy turned left in front of us and totalled off my Altima. I just purchased a 2002 Infiniti i35 and am exporting it to Canada as my replacement vehicle. There are a few things that the vehicle needs, one is DRL (daytime running lights). My question is can the vehicle be outfitted with some magic module to make that happen, or is it a dealer switched option, or what. I know it has the auto setting where the lights come on automatically and turn off on a timer, but I am not sure if that will itch or tickle at RIV. Any help appreciated.

There is a Daytime Light Control Unit that Canadian models have and US models do not. On newer Nissans it is a dealer-switchable setting in the computer, but on the I35 you must add the control unit. The location for the control unit is just behind the right headlight. I'd talk to a Canadian Nissan/Infiniti dealer (Maxima is the same, so Nissan dealer should be fine, too) and ask them about the control unit. I'm not entirely sure if it can simply be added into a US model car, or if other changes need to be made with it.

It's a little brown box that is mounted in front of the windshield washer resevoir. It houses a circuit board to operate the lights @ a limited voltage in the daytime, I believe.As the Minister advised, I'd talk to a Dealer service manager, and if it is plug & play, buy the module from a wrecker and install it myself.
