My 2002 I35 brake lights decided to stay on after I park. Dead battery the next day. After a jump I pulled the brake lamp fuse to keep the battery from dying when I park at night. I'm thinking it's a bad switch on the brake pedal or a bad brake pressure sending unit. Any other ideas ?

The most likely thing to cause this problem is a missing brake light stopper.

You need a helper to looks at the brake lights while you work with the switch
Check and make sure the switch will turn on and off as you push the extended long button on the switch in and out with your hand
If it works then you may need to adjust the distance between the switch holder on the brake pedal and the stop plate
Last time i worked on mine I noticed the rubber stopper was gone on the brake pedal stop plate
( It left a hole in the switch holder so the light stayed on all the time)
I bought the rubber stopper at the NIssan dealers but ended up going to Harbor Freight and buying magnets which filled up the hole so to speak
so now the switch hits the magnet
i never needed to adjust the distance as the magnet worked-thank goodness-working upside down where you feet go is hard as *ell
Does you cruise control work or is it out too?
