2002 Infiniti i35 w/ 88,000 miles. Owned since 2003. Good car. Trying to find an easy fix on a semi-annoying problem:
Occassionally the blower/fan or something in the dash that is a part of the climate control will squeak--almost like the bearing or the spindle or axle the fan is on needs to be lubricated. It generally happens awithin the first few minutes of driving. Happens in summer and winter. Almost like a fingernail on the chalkboard squeak.
It is ittermittent. It doesn't seem to change when I speed up/slow down fan, but I can definitely make it stop by hitting OFF Button on the climate control. So maybe not the fan but a baffle or some other internal control?
I searched the FAQ, and it's not the ringing back flush thing, it's not the fuel pump....
I've seen others replace their fan/blower and wondering if that is doable for a relative newbie.
Wondering if there is any way to lube/grease/access this without taking apart the whole dashboard. Not exactly spraying wd40 into the vents, but maybe from the intake--
anyone else experience this--and any fix ideas would be appreciated?
