2002 I 35 Starting issues/Security

Hi, I have been reading the forum for a while and looking for similar issues that my car is having and I came to a few conclusions but I was wondering if you guys/gal can help me out with this one.


So, I have a 2002 I35 with a 165k, it drives and run great but now it won't start. for example for the past 3 days, it will start in the morning but if I turned it off it's won't start for a few hours or a whole day....when one try to start it, the starter doesn't crank and the security light led stay on and blinking even when the key is on the ON position...after reading many post and trying many of their suggestions, it seems like my car security is a mess.. When I try to start the car after a few hours, I would look at the security light and it would stay off when they key is on the ON position and the car would start.....so if this is really a security issue, can someone elaborate on this please....how can someone turn off that security thing or fix it or test it ? ..I think my car thinks, I've car -jacked it...

Most likely, your car is equipped with NATS (Nissan Anti theft System) where the Ignition Key ID is stored in the IMMU (Immobilizer Unit) and the ECU (Engine Control Unit). Your current key or the transceiver in the Ignition Cylinder could be failing. Have you tried your spare key?

I also have a problem with the starting but the security light does go off in my case. I was wondering if the key was bad or if it is in the ignition itself. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Also my battery has died and the car won't run after jumper cables are removed it just dies. Alternator was checked 2 wks. ago and was putting out 13.8 v. so don't understand what happened. I have an 99 infiniti I30.
