I am having trouble with my 2002 I-35? I purchased the vehicle new from the Infiniti dealer. It has about 32,000 miles and I only use premium gas and have carried it to the dealer for all regular service work.

On 2 different occasions, I have cranked my car and the air, radio, dash lights, etc won't work. The car is running and will drive. When I stop the car and put it back in park it makes a noise. After turning the engine off for a few moments and then turning it back on, everthing starts working and no sign of the problem.

I have taken it to the dealer and nothing shows up as being wrong. They want to replace the electrical part of the ignition switch. They are not 100% sure this is the problem.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,Michael

I had a similar problem with 1994 altima. I found that the key wasn't turned enough to turn on the accessories like dash lights and air. It was, however, turned enough to keep the car running. Just turning it a bit more would get everything running. Two totally different cars, so probably not your problem, but hope it helps.

Thanks very much for the suggestion. It seems to agree with the service department at my local infiniti dealership. They seem to think it had to do with the electrical part of the starter.

Thanks again for your help. I had it replaced and so far all is well.

Michael
