2002 Frontier XE Desert Runner 2X4 front brake rotor removal

Need help on rotor removal. Is special spanner socket required to remove nut in order to remove hub. Nissan dealer says the round nut with 2 slots simply pulls off. Round nut with 2 slots appears to be threaded. Need help. Thx, Bob Dean

for 2wd remove dust cap. remove 2 screws for spanner nut lock plate. use hammer and punch to tap spanner nut (in hole) counter clock wise. once loose will easily spin off spindle. remove rotor and hub assm with bearings. 14mm bolts hold rotor to hub.
