I already checked the harness and they were okay(voltages are within normal range). continuity between the ECU and harness is okay too.

The engine runs if the MAF is removed and gear is in Park or Neutral. engine stopped if in drive.

Car stopped after about a minute when MAF is put back (any gear).

Now, my questions:how do I check if the MAFS is really bad? What resistance should I expect?am i in the right direction in trying to fix my truck.

btw, enine code is P0101 and P0102.thanks.

Did you check the codes before or after you unplugged the maf? Those codes would have set when you unplugged it. Best way to diag a maf is using a scan tool to moniter GPS at idle and under acceleration.

Look down the hole the air flow meter is and see if there is any debris in there restricting the hole or if anything is laying on the hot wire. Becareful removing any thing thats in there or you could damage the hot wire. Reverse air flow works well.

the codes were already on before i unplugged the MAF. the codes will go back after unplugging the MAF. the engine dies under acceleration. won't rev pass 2K rpm when in neutral and park.

I only have the basic scan tool that can view and erase the code. i only use VOM in place of the advanced scan tools BUT i don't know how to check the MAFS itself. I already removed the MAFS from the engine hoping I could test some resistance, continuuity , etc.
