Hello!

So my 2002 Pathfinder has the dreaded death wobble and it's ridiculously bad. I've been told that I need to replace the rear trailing arms and/or control arms. The truck has about 160k miles on it so it's due for some work. I don't have the resources to cut out and press in the bushings so was planning on replacing the whole thing. But have no idea what I am actually supposed to be buying. Is there a difference between control and trailing? OR are they same? Please help!!!

Check out the full write-up that I did on the subject:

The quick answer to your question:

1 x Dorman 905-803 Rear Driver Side Lower Trailing Arm
1 x Dorman 905-804 Rear Passenger Side Lower Trailing Arm
2 x Dorman 905-802 Rear Upper Control Arm

and get a set of replacement bolts. I don't have the part number for just those since they came packaged with the bushing set, but give 4x4parts.com a call and they'll find it for you.

And yes, control arms and trailing arms are the same thing.

Thank you! The parts I ordered were actually a moog part 600904 and 600905....they look like the Dorman parts. Is there a difference?

I did a search on Moog (Federal Mogul)'s site and the RK660903 (upper), RK660904 (right lower), and RK660905 (left lower) came up. I'm assuming those are what you got.

Yeah, those should work great! From what I can tell of the pictures, they look to be exactly what the OEM ones look like. The Dormans had some subtle differences, but nothing show-stopping. I'm willing to bet that the Moogs actually are OEM.

Good luck! :mike

I very, very, highly recommend you get the poly-eurothane inserts, also from 4X4 parts. If you get OE trailing arms they have the same crappy rubber insert which in my case failed again within a year. I don't do any four wheeling, just a normal everyday driver.

I used the doorman parts and they've been treating me well so far, although i only replaced less than a year ago.

A permanently solution is getting the poly bushings from 4x4, but labor is costly if you go this route.
