Hi Guys,

I'm new to this forum and I just wanted to know the staggered setup for my silver/ black- interior 2002 Q45 with no modifications. I love this car and I will keep it for a long time. It comes with premium luxury package with 245/45R18 tire /rim setup. I have been looking at 245/35R20 (20x8.5)front and 275/30R20 (20x9.5) rear setup or maybe all-around 245/35R20 (20x8.5). The all-around setup advantage is tire rotation.

This is my third Nissan/Infiniti products having owned an 81' 280ZX (still owned) and 96' Maxima (traded to Accord V6).

I just need a modest setup change to my Q45.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,Q45man1

Welcome to NICO, Percy... We're glad to have you here...

It seems that there are a lot more F50 Q owners coming to NICO, I may have to start a F50 Q45 owners thread!!

Personally i think a 8in wheel up front and 9in wheel out back would be better for the tire sizes you wanted..... 9.5 is a bit wide for the rear.. you can mount a 275-30-20 onto a 9in wide wheel, it is approved for that width... 245-35-20 is fine on an 8in wheel as well....

You could also consider running an 8in wheel all around and running 255-35-20. Good load ratings all around.. you could even run that size on a 8.5in wide wheel.....

Personally if I were to run a 20in setup (I would not under any circumstances other than getting the set for free) id run an 8.5in wheel all the way around with about 35mm offset with the 255-35-20 tire.....

Besides looking good, staggered setups do not do much on our Q45s.

Welcome....

These guys REALLY know their stuff....so listen and search. No such thing as a really dumb question.you might look for some posts on 02Q45s about warpped rotors and vibration. JasonB wrote them. Also get the dealer to show you a work order history when you go in to have the oil changed. each Q can be pulled up by vin. It's worth paying alittle more for oil to see the history. Also there are some oil consumption issues on the 02Q, look for that in past posts.

Thanks, I'm still looking into some past posts regarding the oil consumption issues for the 2002 Q45.

Thanks again.

The wheel width / tire size you are planning is perfect. I have 245's on my front 8" wheels and I wish they were 8.5 or 9" wide wheels, and I have 275's on 9.5" rears which looks just right. I can't stand the fat, balloon sidewalls when tires are wider than the wheels - looks fine on trucks and stock-cars, but seems wrong on cars. I love my setup and anyone recommending against a staggared setup on a Q is just jealous . "Besides looking good, staggered setups do not do much on our Q45s." well, in my book, Looks = Performance = Useability, all are just as important as the other and you CAN have all of them.

Thanks man. I have attached an example of a 02 Q45 with staggered setup. The car was for sale in N.C. and sold thru ebay. The front is 255/35R20 (20"x9") and rear is 285/30R20 (20"x10). These rims are Axis MOD. I tell you this is sharp looking Q.

eww those wheels dont belong on a F50 but I understand your were just using them to show an example. I will try to take some new pics of my staggered setup and post them when I have time this weekend if it helps.

Keep in mind the F50's have huge inner fender lips on the rears. Rubbing is most likley going to occur on sizes larger then factory if you dont have the fender lips cut or rolled. I learned the hard way on Toyo Proxes4 tires

Those wheels (off that car) are sitting in my garage waiting to go on my G35.

I think I'm staying with non staggered setup. I'm still shopping for a 20" rims. I would take Wes recommendation and install a 245 or 255/35R20 (20 x 8.5) all around. But it would be nice to show your setup for others Q45 owners to see. I think it is a nice looking Q!!

Thanks,Q45man1

Nice looking F50!

Have you made any modifications to the interior?

Please post more photos. Thanks!

Sorry I missed the F55 posts.

I have 245/45/18 on 8" fronts and 275/35/18 on 9" rears. I love the staggered setup. Rotating tires really doesn't give the Q much more tire life, in my opinion. The G50 eats big tires either way you go. The Y33 and the F50 may be different.

I will upgrade to 275/40/18 when the rears wear out. I like the larger diameter tire, and I will need it, if I do a 4.08 rear swap.

First on the Q mod list, is the exhaust, then the cali customs and the adj links, then window tint, the diff swap, then finally install my Infinity speakers and subs along with a 6.5" double din touch screen Nav head unit.

I got shipping notification of my new O2 sensors, and I just bought my Magnaflow x-pipe yesterday (They are the last piece of the exhaust puzzle). The Cali Customs and adj suspension are in boxes, waiting for the install. The speakers and amps are in boxes in my storage area, but the rest are "future" expenditures.

And, if you care, my Corsa system is in for the Corvette, and I am pumped about that. It is a pain, to have 3 projects going at once (1962 GMC truck, 1994 Q45, and 2000 Corvette convertible), I can't decide where to spend my few extra pennies each month.
