I am having problems with my 2001 Xterra starting. I thought it might have been the starter but it was suggested that it could be the factory installed car security system.
I read somewhere in a forum the the factory car alarm does not disable the starter? Is this true.
How can I reset this system? I already tried using the key in the door method

I'm surprised I have not received a response on this?
