2001 Transponder Key

Hi everyone I only have 1 key for my newly acquired 01 Pathy and need to get another. I know that it needs to be programmed with consult but I would like to buy a blank online and have it cut first. My local locksmith wants $80 for making a key or half that to program one. My question is are there different types of transponder chips in the keys or will any 2001 Nissan key work? I also want to purchase another key fob and found one on ebay. The seller also has nissan blank keys for sale, so I would like to buy them together.

There is some interchange, but looking at ebay Pathys use a 4D60 chip.

The vehicle list in the ad you linked to says it fits a 2001 pathfinder, altho it does not specify it uses a 4D60 chip. But the sellers list says it is ok, so it should work.

Thanks for the reply, I did get 2 keys for $12 with the 4D60 chip in them. I have them cut but haven't had the time to go get them programmed, I will update my post when I do. I was thinking of buying a key programmer off ebay and doing it myself.
