i recently replaced front struts and mounts on my 2001 GXE at 115,000 miles. I used KYB struts and upper mounts. BEWARE when installing these mounts that KYB supplies them with only 2 0f 3 mounting studs; different applications call for different fastener/spacer combinations on the third stud. The shop which installed the struts for me ignored instructions and used an undersized fastener on the mounts. the mount loosened after a few thousand miles, developed clearance and wallowed out. result: ruined mount and strut plenty of dough to replace. disappointing because the KYB struts are a huge improvement over stock but only when installed CORRECTLY. only plus is the powerslot rotors and ebs pads installed at the same time are working great. live and learn...and $$$$$
update: dealer installed new upper mounts (Nissan) WITH CORRECT STUD and managed to keep the KYB struts-unusual for a dealer to miss the opportunity to sell new parts if possible but maybe they felt the huge charge for labor was all they could justify.
