2001 Sentra Rear Bumper Stays

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

I was wondering if anyone has a source for this part. The car was involved in an accident that sheared off the rear bumper, requiring replacement of the mounting plate, the bumper stays, beam/cover, etc. I had the repairs all set at a local body shop but they called two days before the appointment to say they can't work on the car because they can't find the 2 bumper stays. I looked around as well and indeed, this part was discontinued and is nowhere to be found. Does anyone have any leads on how I might find this besides going to every junkyard? The car has very few miles so I'd like to repair it instead of throwing it away.

What is the part number for this bumper stay? It would probably be very inexpensive at a junkyard.
Are you talking about bumper cover bracket p/n 85222-4Z000 ?

the body shop had given me the part number 852105M000 but in the diagram plus the site included, it looks like it'll be the 85212P, which looks like the bracket that mounts the beam to the body. I'll search for the latter on eBay to see if I can find it using this identifier. Thank you for the help and the link - hopefully searching for this part will return better results.

unfortunately no luck still - 85212p still mapped to 852105M000, which seems to just be unavailable. I guess my best hope is to find a wrecked Sentra with the rear intact so I can salvage the parts. It's so strange that this particular bracket of all things was discontinued while other related parts are still in high availability.

The 8512P is just a database pointer used by the Nissan parts system, not a part number. Nissan p/n's are always 10 alphanumeric digits (with occasional suffixes for accessory or reman parts). The 85210-5M000 is an actual part number. Those stays are basically glorified rubber shock absorbers for the 5mph buggy bumpers, constructed similar to rubber engine mounts. There's nothing wrong with eliminating them and using hard mounts. I'd just have a machine shop make a pair of simple brackets with matching measurements.

Thanks for the help - I'll keep the fabrication idea in mind as well. One fun development: turns out Nissan Canada seems to have this bracket in stock so I'll try my luck ordering from there as well. Also, it looks like a local junkyard has a car wrecked in the front that is also a prospect. Certainly things atm seem less bleak than last week so hopefully it'll work out.
