Greetings All,

I just installed an aftermarket Sony radio. Pulled out the old stock radio and cut the two white plugs exposing the wires. So I've spliced the wires together and the radio was working just fine. However, I realized that the interior speedometer lights, A/C lights were not coming on when I turned my headlights on.

So I looked at all the wires again and have 4 wires left unattached. One is a black wiring that is coming from the Sony radio. Im assuming this is the ground wire, but where do I ground it to as the grounding screw is too far to attach it to.

Also the remaining three remaining wires come from the Sentra and they are red/yellow stripe, yellow/red stripe and a like a blueish colored one. I believe one of these wires control that interior light I was speaking about.

So as I was moving the sony stereo around with the car running and the radio on, (I know that is the dumbest thing I could have done) I believe I blew a fuse cause there was a spark and the radio went out and wont' come back on.

Could you someone please advise the correct setup to connecting the radio to the sentra?
Where is the fuse for the radio/interior dash lights as Ill probably have to change them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You definitely should have bought a harness adapter. Would have made this pretty painless, and you wouldn't have had to ruin the factory underdash harness either. Hopefully you blew a fuse and didn't fry the radio itself. Typically, on the harness or the back of the radio there is a small blade fuse. Locate and replace that. Also, check the "radio" fuse in the car's fuse box. It's under the steering wheel. Good luck!

Oh, and welcome to the forum!
