Why does the security alarm on my 2001 go off every time I unlock one of the doors or rear hatch with the key? :wtf2:

Regardless of how I lock the truck, door button, key, or key fob, I absolutely have to unlock it with the fob. Otherwise the alarm goes off until I relock and unlock the doors using the fob. The owners manual clearly states that unlocking the doors with the key fob or the key will deactivate the alarm. NOT!

When you use the key, there are door switches that send a ground signal to the computer shutting off the alarm.

Are both front cylinders and trunk setting off the alarm? Or is it just 1 key cylinder ?

My driver side switch doesn't work and will set off the alarm every time I unlock with the key.

Inspect all of the door switches, including the one in the hood for damage. Damaged door switches may be confusing the alarm system.
