I'm looking to replace my 5.5gen Max tail lights with the black SE tails. Are they a direct fit, or should I forget about putting them on?

I did the same Thing but I have a 01 and put 03 Clear taillights and I just sealed around the lights right where they sit around the trunk area. When I first put them on ... I drove home after work in the rain I found a puddle of water in my trunk becuase I did'nt seal the lights around the trunk. It was funny because I felt like I was in a boat and herd water going from side to side in the car. Just seal around the lights Not the bottom just the sides after that NO more motorboat.....

Did you just use some auto weather stripping that you can find at an Autozone or take the stripping off the old lights and put them on the clear ones?

I was just about to post that I went and took a look at the inside of the tail lights and noticed it's sealed with some sort of rubber caulk, thanks for the help all.

Cool, thanks guy. I wasn't sure about the whole thing because I was told they're a different fit than my year. I'll just seal it up nicely and no one will know.
