2001 Receiver Dryer issues

Doing some repairs on my A/C system (low pressure hose sprung a leak and the receiver dryer needs to be replaced.) Anyways, bought an aftermarket receiver dryer and it's wrong. Starting looking online and it seems 2001 Pathy's have a unique R/D unit. It's long and narrow, like an 03, but has two bolt mounting holes and flush condensor line fitting openings, not flared. Anyone run into any problems on their 01's? Nissan wants over $80 for it, while every other year is around $15-30.

Sorry to reopen this old thread, but I ran into this exact problem and thought my experience could help others.

I ordered the Four Seasons 83131, which is what Amazon and the manufacturer said would work for my 01 QX4, but when I got it, it was obviously not a fit. It was shorter and thicker than the one that was in the car.

I ordered the Four Seasons 83132, which is what Amazon and the manufacturer said would work for a 02-03 QX4. This one was the correct part.



The manufacturer recommends the same parts for the same-year Pathfinders. No comment on what actually fits, but I'd bet money the 83132 is what fits in an 01 Pathfinder.

There are two flavors of '01 PF/QX4: '01 and '01.5 They may have gone to the later dryer for the '01.5.
