"Did you put a new starter solenoid on it as well?" - yes, I believe so. This is the replacement part I used [
http://www.pepboys.com/product/details/9266166/00132], and my understanding is the starter solenoid is the top cylinder of the part. Please correct me if I am wrong. I haven't checked the clicking yet.. see "Check your grounds" below.
"Put the vehicle in neutral and see if it starts ok." - Did not work.
"Check your grounds" - I loosened and retightened the ground coming off the negative terminal of the battery and the ground above the fuse box. After doing this... it cranked up 3x in a row. I will try again later tonight and in the morning to see if it is still successful.
So my question now is... if retightening the grounds took care of it, what does that mean? Was my existing starter good, or could it have been a compounding issue?
