2001 QX4 rpms drop suddenly

Over the past few days, I’ve had an issue where the rpms suddenly drop and then come back up while driving; this morning it even stalled as I was going through a school zone. It’s been running flawlessly since I got it 2 weeks/1,000 miles ago, and I’m not getting a service engine light when it happens.

Mileage is 204,594

Any thoughts?

Sounds like this could be your issue, very common problem with your vehicle.

Thanks, guess I’ll have to put a code reader on it to see what comes up.

Is the damage most likely already done to the ECM, or is it worth just replacing the IACV and hope that I’ve gotten lucky?
