Hey guys,

I have a 2001 QX4 (~134,000 miles) and I'm starting to think that the transmission my my QX4 is having problems. It has been taken to every scheduled maintenance, it has always had its oil and fluids changed... in short, it has been properly taken care of and no matter where I take the car to be serviced, they never find any problems with the transmission.

Anyways, a few months ago I noticed that the car would not shift until it entered high RPMs (anywhere from 4-6k). This happened in city driving and highway driving. This happened for a couple days, but then returned to normal.

Today I noticed (this happened twice today) that as soon as I started the car, it would shake pretty badly as soon as I put it in reverse and even when I put the car into drive, the shaking would continue for a bit. This has never happened before so I am concerned.

Am I being overly concerned?

i don't think you can ever be overly concern when thinking you might have transmission probs, i would think to check the gear linkage and or shifter. i know some car can come out of adjustment, not sure how to do this for this car though, you need to go into more detail, was it a shaking like you car was misfiring, starving for fuel, any noise, rough engagement of transmission...etc
