2001 QX4 Interior Lighting Issues...

I'm glad there's a good forum for these cars...I have a littany of issues, but let's take things one at a time:

Bought an 01 QX4 yesterday with 56,900 miles. Seemed like a great car...now I'm having buyer's remorse. For starters, I have the infamous death sway (already ordered all four rear control arms and will be installing them myself) and a steering wheel wobble/heavy vibration at highway speeds over 60mph.

Also this morning, the digital thermometer/compass, Power mirrors, Dimmer switch, Headlight angle adjuster and gauge cluster (speedo, tach, etc) all failed to light up. Nothing. Not even dim, no light whatsoever.

I'm not able to locate the applicable fuses either. None of the fuses under the hood or under/left of the steering wheel apply to any of those systems. What am I missing here? I've owned a Haynes manual for every vehicle I've over owned...except this!

The AC/radio lighting does work. The headlights do work. The turn signals/hazard signals do work. Looking for help with these electrical issues. The parts for the death sway wont be here for another week or so, so I need to tackle the lighting issues while I can. Standing by, thanks for the help!

Your "TAIL" fuse is blown. It is in the passenger side fuse box. You can download a copy of the factory service manual here. To save a copy of the FSM, right click -> Save As on every PDF and save them into a single folder.

It wasn't the tail fuse. I replaced it with another 10 amp fuse, but the gauge lights still won't operate and the mirrors won't either. Any other thoughts or suggestions are welcome!

Update: the dimmer switch does work as does the headlight angle adjuster. But still no compass, mirrors or gauge backlighting. Taking it to a shop in kailuafornia next week. I'll let y'all know what he finds. I'm going to find some more beer....
