has anybody encountered this.... while at a light or stopped while in drive, my suv will idle at around 800rpm then will start dipping to then jump back up. this morning it dropped real low to the point that it almost cut off. This happens frequently. it has 175k on it with latest maintenance done of it was the replacing of all coil packs back 1-1/2 years ago. Any help will be appreciated! :gotme

Try cleaning your MAF sensor. There are pictures on how to do so in this thread, scroll down near the bottom of the first post.

My 01 was doing the same thing, it was the MAF.

It is easy, and cheap, just make sure you get MAF cleaner, and not generic electrical cleaner

Yeah, it's likely your MAF (as they've all said). If you're still having the same issue after cleaning the MAF, look for vacuum leaks and maybe do an idle relearn (but that's likely not it).
