i went 8k heads and 3k fogs... should try that the 3 k cuts through the rain and fogs pretty damned goodRyman wrote:sorry i ask so many questions to those that are irritated.... But I was wondering I want to put 6000k hids in my fogs but was doing some research on which one i should go with... like 35w or 55w. People say that there's a difference in color temperature or something, but other people 55w puts out more light and just people are saying different things. And also was wondering where should i go to buy my kit? where did everyone else go to but their hid kits?
HiD Guy is not the cheapest but their kits are quality. I don't suggest going over 6K, anything higher and you start to lose light output. Plus IMO blue and purple lights are extremely cheesy.Ryman wrote:where did everyone buy their kits.... i want some reliable stuff i heard hidguy was good just by browsing the forums here any other names that i can look into?
Are you looking for the housings or just the conversion kits?jpedderson wrote:Anyone make a good kit (fog/headlight) for a 2001? I noticed HIDguy only has kits for 2005+... Looking for 6000K kit.
Why would you need a conversion for your main driving lamps? You've already got amazing stock HID's. If you're going to do the fogs I suggest getting 4300k to match the stock lamps. IMO it looks really ricey if you've got white and blueish lamps. White and yellow serve a purpose. Blue or purple are cheesy and cut your light output. We've actually got pretty decent fog light housings for an HID conversion because the lamps are not viewable from the front. I'm not sure if the length of the HID lamps will fit. And you do need a relay.jpedderson wrote:Conversion kit for mains and fogs.
