i wasn't sure if i should've posted this in an existing thread or just make my own but I had a few questions. 1) Could I buy any h3 hid conversion kit and it will work with my truck? 2) Do i need a relay for the fog lights(I'm heavy into sounds and I'm eventually going to be running about 8000rms to my system) was wondering if that would sway my decision to get one or not. I talked to some reps from HID distributors and they all told me that their kit "should" fit and i "shouldn't" need a relay but I don't want to waste good money and get something that doesn't work with my car. oh and lastly where is a good place to buy the hid kit (price, customer service, reliability) Thanks

sorry i ask so many questions to those that are irritated.... But I was wondering I want to put 6000k hids in my fogs but was doing some research on which one i should go with... like 35w or 55w. People say that there's a difference in color temperature or something, but other people 55w puts out more light and just people are saying different things. And also was wondering where should i go to buy my kit? where did everyone else go to but their hid kits?

You shouldn't put 55W HID's in a fog lamp housing since they put off a considerable amount of heat and they have been known to melt the plastic in the housing. I think it's safe to use 55W HID's in the main housing since it is much bigger and can dissipate heat much better. Also, 55W HID's have a much higher failure rate than 35W so it is recommended that you purchase a quality set to avoid premature failure.

i went 8k heads and 3k fogs... should try that the 3 k cuts through the rain and fogs pretty damned good

HiD Guy is not the cheapest but their kits are quality. I don't suggest going over 6K, anything higher and you start to lose light output. Plus IMO blue and purple lights are extremely cheesy.

Anyone make a good kit (fog/headlight) for a 2001? I noticed HIDguy only has kits for 2005+... Looking for 6000K kit.

Are you looking for the housings or just the conversion kits?

Why would you need a conversion for your main driving lamps? You've already got amazing stock HID's. If you're going to do the fogs I suggest getting 4300k to match the stock lamps. IMO it looks really ricey if you've got white and blueish lamps. White and yellow serve a purpose. Blue or purple are cheesy and cut your light output. We've actually got pretty decent fog light housings for an HID conversion because the lamps are not viewable from the front. I'm not sure if the length of the HID lamps will fit. And you do need a relay.
