2001 QX4 Headlight Adjustment?

Is there any special process to adjusting the xenon headlights on a 2001 QX4 up and down? I just finished installing my new 55W digital kit and I want to adjust the lights up more. I am definitely not mechanically challenged, I just had no success adjusting them with the screws on each side. I popped those plastic covers off a long time ago. When I rotate the screws nothing adjusts it seems.

Any different methods? Are my adjusters broken? Do you have to have the interior control switch set differently?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
