I recently had the ivac fail and after taking everything apart found the burnt chip in the ecm. I tried soldering on a new chip but it didn't works so now I'm looking for replacement ecms. Does anyone know which years are compatible with a 2001 qx4 or how I can find out?

Also, does anyone know what the solenoid looking thing above the throttle body does? It's on my qx4 but not on some Pathfinder throttle bodies that I've seen. Probably part of the cruise control?

Thanks!

Welcome aboard!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the 2001 Pathfinder and QX4 would be your safest choices. No sense chancing it with a different year (especially if there's some minute difference that we haven't documented).

Pic of the 'solenoid' in question? Most likely CC-related, but I'm curious now.

Why not send out the ECM to get repaired? A number of eBay sellers will do it for around 100 bucks. That's the route I took a few years ago; no issues since.

I ended up buying the chip off Amazon and repairing the ecm myself. It's working so far so we'll see how long it lasts.
