Can anyone tell me how to get the power antenna put back in. Someone broke off my antenna in the parking lot and I have the replacement but don't know how to install it. I don't see any access cover for the motor, etc. Is it possible to stick the plastic retractor down the hole and get the gear to catch it and pull it onto the spool? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to NICO!

You pretty much have to get down into the motor itself to change these things... I've never done it on a QX-4, but there should be some kind of access, either through a removable panel or by removing some of the interior cladding.

Go here and download the proper fsm (factory service manual) for your vehicle (if you don't already have one). It should have a components locater that will show you exactly where the motor is and how to get to it. If you need any more help don't hesitate to ask!

basically what you're going to have to do is take the entire power antenna motor out, take it apart, get all the old antenna pieces out, and then you reinstall the new one... What happens is theres a nylon belt that the antenna works with and over time the belt will break.

its a super easy job, i did it on my Q and it took about 30 mins from drive in to drive out.
