2001 Q45t Climate control (w/Navigation) problems

Alright Nico, so i recently picked up a super clean 2001 Q45t with 77k miles! I love it so far, however I am having a few small issues.

First off my Q came with navigation in dash. The issue I am having is that the Navigation and Climate control are one unit (the climate control shows on the same touch screen as the navigation). As cool as this is, the knob to adjust the temperature does NOTHING, it just spins and spins. The temperature is stuck at 75°f. Everything else works on the unit except the knob for the temperature (even the touch screen controls work).

I have looked up the part (only sold as the entire navi unit) and its upwards of $5,000! Ubviously I won't be paying for that, so im considering maybe swapping in manual controls. Swapping manual controls would require swapping that entire center bezel (including adding the analog clock, climate control, and double stack radio). Does anyone know if this is possible? Or is there another solution I could consider?
