If I am making a right turn for example and step on the gas my tuck takes off but seems to have a couple seconds of acceleration loss. I suspect something transmission as it doesn't seem to want to switch into gear as it should. This is only when I am "really" hiitting the gas.

Any suggests?

I have the exact same problem. Two weeks ago when I floored the car, it lurched into gear and went to my desired speed of 60 MPH in an instant. Now when I floor it, I feel like I am driving a Saturn and it takes like 15 seconds.

When was the last time you changed your fuel filter? I'd start there.

I'd say every 30K miles. I experienced the same thing and replaced my fuel filter + cleaned the MAF sensor and it ran like new. Then again my fuel filter had about 175K miles on it.

arghhh, back to MAF.I have been putting this off all summer. I also have an issue with the vehicle cutting off at times at stop lights occasionally, seems to be worse in the winter. Basically it idles so low it cuts off, not to big a deal because I am use to giving it a little gas first.

For your MAF, did you do the Maxima hack or get a real one for your vehicle?

Fuel filters can go bad in less then 1000 miles, depending on what is sitting in your gas tank. If its full of sediment, and its causing fuel starvation, you need to attack the main problem, and not try putting bandaids on it.

otherwise, use the simple principal of Air, fuel, and spark. your problem is in one of those 3 places.
