Hello all, I am trying to diagnose my sons Pathfinder. I purchased the truck used 2 years ago and have not had any issues until recently. The truck began running sluggish 3 months back and was taken to the shop by my Ex and my son. They diagnosed a bad MAF and said the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The MAF was replaced but nothing was done to the cat. Truck ran great until last week. It started acting up and went into LIMP mode so I went and brought the truck home on my trailer. I am a decent mechanic and would like to fix this myself with a little help from forums if possible. Her are the symptons.

1) I am getting codes P1140 and P1145. Cleaned and swapped sensors, same codes.

2) Truck runs great even with the codes above when cold. After warm up and normal operating temp is reached it begins to spit and sputter and choke down. When I run the codes again I get a P0100 followed by the P1140 and P1145. At this point it usually kicks into LIMP mode and will not rev above 2500 rpm.

On a side note. When I first looked at the MAF I noticed the previous mechanic left out one of the bolts holding the MAF tube to the air box. Not sure if that cause the MAF to get dirty but upon inspection it still looks clean. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

P1140/1145 will not cause it run really bad, I don't think. You just loose a little torque.

P0100 is MAF. There's about 8 pages of checkout in the FSM. I'd do that. I'd also check to see if there was any warantee from the
shop.

Update: Replaced MAF with 2001 Maxima MAF runs like a champ now. Also replaced the 2 cam shaft sensors with parts from O'reilly'. Cleared up the codes. All is good.
