Recently I've lost front part of the compressor cluch, rusted rivets. My car started to get erratic at idle speed ~ 800rpm and after 10-15 sec dies. When I'm driving more than 1500 rpm everything looks ok. Is there possibility that this behavior is because of bad compressor?

If it's not, I'd be suspicious of the MAF sensor.

Used compressor from http://www.car-part.com or new one from one of our 3 OEM parts suppliers (see ads to the right)...

as long as the AC is off, its just like the AC compressor were not there at all (pulley spins freely)...

as hitman said it could be the MAF.. have you checked your codes and begun basic diagnosis??

Thanks for hint. You're right AC off, that's no compressor. When I put AC on, car develops lots of vibration. I will check P code on Monday and will be much easier to discuss the issue. I realy admire this fast response from you and hitman. I would like to see the rest of the world of services working that efficiently.

Thats what I like to hear...

Does this vibration go away off idle (meaning after you give it a little bit of gas?). also are you saying that WHEN you hit the AC on, it then stalls..?

Hi,One more time thx for interest. I've started my car today morning (cold). AC was off. Car went to 1200 rpm and stayed for while. After approx half minute dropped to around 400-500rpm for very short time and went back to 1200. Then it started doing this few more times. After couple minutes car stopped. In the meantime I've put AC on and I got this vibration that stayed at the full range of rpm (-2500rpm). When I turned AC off, vibration stayed for 10sec and after gone. But car stopped too. I'm on my way home where I have code reader and I will pickup P code, I will let you know what it says.
