Desperate for help here.

2001 Pathfinder auto 4x4

A couple weeks ago, drove 15 minutes and it died backing into a parking spot. Would not start again. Code reader showed P1320 and P0100. Did not seem like a MAF problem, though. Gut feeling was TPS or IAC. Couldn't diagnose where it was sitting, so replaced MAF. Would not start. Popped the plugs off the TPS and put them back on. Truck started up and drove home.

Ran fine for several days.

Days later, drove 15 minutes and it died at a stop sign. Could not get it started unless I held the gas pedal down. Towed it home. Replaced the TPS. No change. Still showing codes P1320 and P0100.

Truck sat for a couple days and I just tried starting it and it started. Shut it off. Tried starting again and could not get it to start unless I pressed the gas pedal.

The only other thing I've done was replace a coil last year with one from O'Reilley's. Truck runs smooth when you start it and keep the gas pedal down a little bit. Dies if you let RPMs get down around 800.

Does the combination of these two codes point to anything specific? I've never worked on a Nissan before and am about to throw in the towel. Could really use your help to figure this out.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

Sounds like the classic IACV failure, a common problem on this vintage Pathfinder.
If it is a bad IACV, and it is not replaced in time, it will cause the ECM to go bad, meaning even if you replace the IACV, the problem will still be there. You would need to send out the ECM for repair.
There are many threads on this problem (including the one where I went through this experience) Do a search for IACV fail, and see what you can come up with.
Godd luck.

I would remove the IACV and see if the gasket has failed ASAP before the ECU gets fried. When mine went bad I had similar symptoms as yours.
