I have a 2001 Pathfinder, 63,000 miles. Just this morning while driving and listening to the radio, the radio cut out of a few speakers and the battery, ABS and brake lights all came on and flickered. This happened off and on for the ride but the car operated fine. Battery is very new so I'm thinking the altinator is going. With the key out of the ignition the brake light and air bag lights remain on????? Please advise.

Sounds like you got a short in the charging system somewhere. typically the lights dont stay on when the key is out of the ignition so it may be just a short in the wiring somewhere.

Any thoughts on where to look if it is a short? I'm not that familiar with the wiring of a Pathfinder.

The truck is in almost mint condition and the only recent work was to replace the struts and an oil change.

Take you vehicle to an auto parts store and ask them to test the alt/battery; most stores will do it fro free.
