It might not be an expensive repair. Plus it sounds like a good truck still.
So get some Chevron Techron Fuel system cleaner or similar, a can of Heet for wintertime gas (couple month longer) which is poor in performance and add per tank, and run 89 octane or premium.
Make sure you fuel filter has been changed in the past year or so. If not, run the fuel system cleaner (first) and then change after that tank is run thru it. (All you do it pour it in the tank when you are filling gas).
It might not be the pump, but the filter. It might not even be related to fuel. But all of these things are good to do and cheap and will help anyway.
Confirm your air filter is clean (easy), clean your air flow sensor (easy), check your oil (easy), pump your tires to 35psi cold (easy), and take it out and rev it up to 5k rpms a few times on the road by shifting it down to 2nd gear and then just give it all she has got. At 5 to 6 k rpms, shift to the next gear and go a little more without letting off. This is the italian tune up and can blow out the pipes.
Under 50mph, I use the overdrive off button often, and rarely use overdrive except on flats or once I am at speed. I seem to get good results.
All of these things are cheap and easy and can help and will not hurt.
Your Cataletic converter might be clogging up, but I am not experienced in this enough to tell you about it.
