I have a P1110 code on my Pathfinder. (Intake Timing Control Sensor, Right side).

I understand this is the passenger side sensor, however, where can I find it?

Are there any tips & tricks to replacing it?

I found the part at the dealership - 23731-2y524 for $83.33. Is the trouble code pointing me to this specific part, or will I be 'peeling back the onion' after replacing it?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Thanks, I read that post a few times.

Coincidentally, my SES light went off today on it's own. Using the logic you told us about in the above-referenced post, should I assume that the solenoid is probably going to be the culprit if I get the same error code again?

actually watch for the light and the point in which it comes on next time. If it comes on imediatly on start up of the vehicle before driving its the sensor, if it comes on while driving it could be either part, but a little hint if it is a solonoid would be the exact driving condition your under when it does wink on. If you are in a mild load condition, like climbing a slight grade I mean very slight and your throttle has been steady for approximatly the last 20 secs when the light pops on it is likely the solonoid.

Thank you very much for that explanation

Could someone please tell what "solenoid" Syeve was talking about??

Possibly a part number and maybe an FSM reference so I can get an orientation of it in my engine.

P1110 code is kicking my butt

http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/pathfinder/2001/ec.pdf Diagnosis starts on page 448, and it looks like a real pain. I agree with NISTECH's advice and see when it come on after resetting it.

Well Im almost sure its the solenoid, not based on any knowledge of my own, as I replaced both sensors already which got rid of P1135/P1145. So I think after reading all the threads mine would be the solenoid

My CEL doesnt come on right away when the car is started, it only comes on after 10+ min of driving

I just dont understand where the actual solenoid is on my engine, and its part number

After reading a bit of the FSM link you posted (which Im not going to lie is way above my knowledge level). I think there may be 2 solenoids? One per bank??

If thats the case can they be swapped? See if I get the code on the other bank?
