I noticed a small puddle a couple of days ago and finally crawled under today and it's definitely coming from the oil cooler. I found the large orange gasket at Autozone but I've read that there's a second gasket or o ring in the cooler itself. Does anyone know where I can find this smaller o-ring or know the size of it? Even Rockauto doesn't appear to list anything specific for that location so I'm unsure of what to buy.

This is our only car and we're miles from an Autozone so it's easiest if I can get my ducks all in a row before I begin working...

You might be able to get by with just tightening the bolt on the oil cooler, I believe the bolt is 17mm.

If not, these are the o-rings that you need.

The price isn't too bad on that link, but I've seen it somewhere (can't recall where ATM) that you could get the o-ring off a cheap oil filter for your car and make it work. I think it was a video that showed the guy sacrificing a fram filter for this.

Just another option if you're in a pinch, but hey, check out that link.

Mine was leaking a little bit on my 04, enough to start noticing it on the plastic under panel. I tightened up the bolt and cleaned it off however I see a bit of oily film on the back part of the cooler again and I can smell it in the truck when it's at operating temp. Does anyone know if those o rings can be replaced without removing the coolant hoses off the cooler?

I just answered my own question, the coolant hoses don't need to be removed. A really nice guy posted up a video of the o ring replacement on his 04. Hopefully the link works otherwise search for 94 pathfinder oil cooler and you should find it on YouTube.

Just did this on my truck as the leak was pretty bad. I bought these off of ebay:

The gaskets were OEM Nissan but the part is made of different material (EPDM I believe vs silicone for the orange ones).

21304-17F20 are the orange ones and the black EPDM ones I used were 21304-JK20A, both are the same size. I didn't have to drain any oil or coolant to do this. I would say about 1/4 quart of oil came out.

When doing this ensure you thoroughly clean all gasket contacting surfaces and once you have it bolted together, run the engine with the splash shield off so you can check for leaks. Once you have ensured there are no leaks, bolt the shield back up and as advice use some anti seize on the threads.

All three of mine have leaked --- I got the gaskets as above.
