Hello,

I try to change oil filter, but it seems imposible to take it out. As a result, the filter is badly damage. What tool do I need to take it out É

Most recent oil change was at Nissan dealer. Is it possible that they have specific tool for their filterÉ I had tried to change it at home before without any problem.

Please helpppppppppppp.. Thanks millions.

This is the tool you need. Pepboys sells them. Don't gorilla your oil filter on or you will run into this again.

Hi Reverend D,

Thanks very much for your reply. But is there anything else I can do now while waiting for that tool?

I changed oil when engine stay cool (been sitting on driveway for 2days), could this be a problem ?

Just to add with the last question; I already drain oil, only waiting for that stubborn filter to come off then I'll be ok. Should I put oil to the tank then start the engine to see if the filter can come off easier???????

Please help. Thanks so much for any help. My friend offered to change oil for me, now I'm stuck with this problem. I am very frustrated.

Thanks again for your time.

Badly crushed by pliers.Anyway, it's done!

Solved! Thanks for your input. I gave up on trying to take out the filter. I had it towed to a shop. I'll never ever do this again. hihihih

Once again thanks.

Wow, most expensive oil change ever.

You can do this.

If it ever happens again, ram a screwdriver through the thing if you can't get it off and use it for leverage. Have your catch pan ready because it'll be a little messy.

The trick to getting these off is not to put them on so tight to begin with, and to ensure you take some oil and oil down the rubber ring on the filter for a good seal and so it doesn't freeze to the filter mount.
