2001 pathfinder not starting

My 2001 pathfinder didn't want to turn over twice this week . I think it's my starter . The battery is strong and everything else came on. How can I tell if it's the ignition switch or the starter or anything else for that matter.

Is it you turn the key and click, nothing? or does it crank and crank without starting? Please be a little more specific as to what it's doing. Sometimes you can tap the end of the starter with a hammer and it will re-engage the gear.

When I turn the key it's not turning over .

Yup just click and nothing except the electrical powers up ; radio , dash etc.

Sounds like your starter is going out. Both of mine click from time to time. If it gets stuck tap the starter with a hammer to try to knock it loose.

Where's the starter at , underneath the car ? Because I dont see anything that resembles a starter underneath the hood

The starter section is SC

If it's underneath it should be an easy swap then huh ?

I can't speak from experience but I hear if you have 4wd it can be hard to get to.
