Fellow forum members,
Back in 2011 I had to replace my fan control amp unit that is located to the left of the blower. The symtom was a blower that got stuck on HIGH speed and my Header Unit had no control over the speed of the fan any more. I took it to the dealer and the fix turned out to be a failed Fan Control Amp unit.
Now it is two years later and the I'm having AC blower fan problems again. This time my blower fan is dead, as compared to 2011 when the blower fan got stuck on HIGH speed. No matter what fan speed level I select on the Header unit my blower stays dead. No blowing what so ever.
This time I elected to save some money and not take it to Nissan Dealer. Instead, I bought a brand new Fan Control Amp unit and installed it myself. Cost me $165.00. It temporarily fixed my problem. It worked great for one week and now again my AC is dead. I live in Florida, so I need my AC to work.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone out there any opinions on what the problem could be. It's not a broken blower motor because the second Fan Control Amp unit I installed proved the blower fan was working fine. It is also not a low coolant level because it was recharged around a month ago. The AC fuse located in the Fuse Box looks find to me. Worth mentioning I noticed the white plastic cover that covers the Fan Control Amp circuit board seems to have warped a little bit on one of the corners. I think this is due to leaving my Header unit turned ON while the blower Fan is not blowing at all.
Can anyone out there please provide some suggestions on what could the possible problem be. Any advice on how I could continue to troubleshoot this problem will be greatly appreicted. Thanks in advance.
