2001 Pathfinder electronics issues

I have a couple of issues with a 2001 Pathfinder SE.

1) Out of nowhere, when I press the unlock button on the remote, it now only unlocks the drivers door regardless of how many times I press it (the lights flash to confirm that I pressed it properly). This just started the other day.

2) The express function on the moonroof does nothing anymore. to open the roof I need to press the button about 15 times to move it step by step. Been an issue for a little while now.

3) passenger window express up function messed up. When I use it, the window goes all the way up and then backs off about 2 inches. First noticed after the car was involved in a fairly minor rearend collision.

It sounds like you have lost many of your short term memory functions. Did your battery die recently or has something happened to the passenger side door?

The control of all of these circuits and their retained power memory is controlled by the smart entrance control unit. I would highly suspect a fault in the control unit or power supply to the control unit.

thanks for the direction. Looking over the pdf, it looks like I may have a problem with the multi-remote relay since all other systems related seem to be working fine. I haven't had any impacts or dead batteries in a while, and if I press unlock on the remote control, the parking lights flash acknowledging it received the signal, yet not unlocking passenger doors. What do you think?

I agree the relay may be suspect, however if it's unlocking the drivers door the system is powering up and working, or at least partially.

Does the P/side door unlock using the main switch?

Check EL-298 for the diagnostic procedure (if the door actuator is deemed to be working normally).

all other doors unlock properly off the door switch. Just not from the remote.

update on the status, when I try to open the hatch using the key, the alarm goes off.
