Hey guys

I have a pathfinder. The cats were bad, so I replaced those as well as head gasket. Codes for cats went off on their own.

Cable snapped on the passenger side (Bank 1) Intake Valve Control Solenoid Valve.

I fixed it, turned off light, came back on.I read through every single forum there is, people were saying it's either the cam sensors or the solenoid.

I changed the solenoid. Came back on after 30 miles.

I need to register the car in order to be able to drive it on the street, pass emissions.

I have been raising the back wheels onto blocks and driving it in place at various speeds for 100+ miles.

Does that make a difference? Should it be driven on the road?

Also I have swapped the cam sensors, hoping a different code would come on, but nope, still P1110.

Even the dealership doesn't have a clue what it could be.

Any ideas?

If I can't find an answer I'll have no choice but to take it in for a diagnostics test at nissan.Hopefully that will tell me what it could be.

If anyone out there had the same problem, let me know what it could be.

Thx

Unfortunately this is a very common issue on 2001 Pathfinders. This topic has been covered many times before here on NICO and I'm sure you'll be able to find a wealth of information by just searching using the term P1110.

Also, the service manual does state that the issue could be your camshaft position sensor(s), your crankshaft position sensor, or accumulation of debris on the signal plate for the camshaft position sensor(s). Usually this is not the case and many have found that replacing the VTC sensor can resolve the issue.

Here are a few links to threads which cover this topic pretty well:
