2001 Pathfinder cd player

My 2001 pathfinder has a cd jammed inside and just clickes and hums each time the key is turned on. Does anyone know how to get the radio\cd player out of the dash so I can clear the cd??

yeah... first u pry the vents out using a flathead and a towel(so u dont damage trim)... u should be able to just pull the vents out after u pry it loose.

next there will be two screws at the top of the trim that hold the cd and climate controls. remove them. than... using the flathead or your hands. pull out the trim piece. it should snapp right out.

u will see the screws that hold the climate controls and the radio. remove the screws from the radio. and there u go. the rest i think you can pretty much do it yourself. if u need some more help i will do it and post pics for u i have to replace bulbs anyways...

The jammed CD changer is a common problem with that unit. Happened to my 2001 PF LE soon after I bought it used with 33K on the clock. I went thru "hell" with the Dealer when I reported the problem with 36,215 miles on the clock. First words out of their mouth: Out of Warranty - $800 fix. Fought with the Nissan NE Division. Sent a letter to president of North America Office in CA. They called me and worked with me to repair the unit without a charge. It took 6 weeks. Word of Caution: Don't Play CD-Rs in the unit, it's in the manual and voids warranty. The unit only plays commercial CDs. BTW, the CD unit is a Clarion NOT A BOSE. The radio is BSE, but not the CD Player/changer.

Looks like I have the same problem in my '01 Pathfinder. The CD player yesterday first started skipping while sitting at a light. Oh, oh.... I turned it off and then back on with the steering wheel controls. Err2 showed on the display....Craaapp...

I have a question: I can buy the whole unit, radio, cassette and CD player from a guy locally but, it's from an '02 pathfinder, mine's an '01.

Will everything work, like the steering column controls and are the plugs in the back for the unit the same?

I can get the unit for around $75 and there's a guy on ebay that will fix mine for $135 plus shipping.....
