(The search tool is not helping me find what I need)

I have a 2001 Pathfinder 2WD with auto trans. I'm also having problems with it. If it turns out I have to replace it, is it possible and practical to replace it with a manual transmission? I seriously doubt this is something I'd try to do myself, but I'm wondering if it's done by anyone for this model.

Any recommendations on whether or not this should be done?

If it can be done, any recommendation on what type of shop (including a dealer) should do it? Any ballpark number on cost?

Thanks...

It can be done BUT it will likely cost more then buying and installing a new auto. You would need to get a manual trans ECU and wiring harness, pedals, hydrolic components, shafts, mounts and anything else that is specific to the manual trans. If you dont change the ECU you will get a check engine light for multiple codes. Here is the problem you would face. There arent many manual trans 2001 pathfinders out there.
