2001 Pathfinder Automatically unlocks

This problem has existed now for about 3 months. I've replaced the key FOB battery - and tried both key FOBs that came with the truck. I purchased the truck new in 2001 and still have original key FOBs. I've used one key FOB the entire time. Took my truck into the Nissan dealer (Virginia Beach, VA). They said it's "probably" a short in the key FOB. NOT! I've reprogrammed both FOBs and this problem still exists. Reprogrammed by getting in truck, locking all doors, inserting key 6 times in 10 seconds, turning key to ACC and pushing one of the buttons on the key FOB (lock or unlock). This doesn't solved the problem. MYSTERY: I get in the truck, manually lock the doors, turn the lights on and when I turn the lights off the doors unlock. Sometimes (often) I park the truck in the drive way or at a store, etc. Lock the doors and within minutes, the doors automatically unlock themselves. I can stand right out by the truck - lock it - and within minutes - the truck unlocks. Any thoughts/advice? Greatly appreciated.

How did you determine it wasn't actually a short in one/both of the fobs? Does the auto unlocking thing happen if you remove the batteries from the fobs?
