So I have a 2001 Pathfinder with around 158,000 miles on it. I was driving a few weeks back and the car would jerk into 3rd gear, and wouldn't go into 4th or 5th. The next day I started the car up and it wouldn't go into any gear including reverse. Now when I start it up the engine will idle, but the minute I put it into reverse, drive, 1st or 2nd gear the engine shuts off. I'm stumped on what to do or where to go from here. Thanks for any ideas!

Gotta pull any engine and Transmission codes first , if ya get them ,in your reply please translate them -
