2001 Path positive battery bypass

Hello everyone, today I went to take out the battery of my fiances 2001 pathfinder le, and the positive side box broke, went to nissan and although it detaches they do not sell the box separately they wanted me to by the the cable also for $150, so I said thats too much so I went and bought a generic connector, but this truck is different from my car, how do I bypass the box? any suggestions?

What's this "box"?

Pics would help - I think I know what you're referring to, but want to make sure.

Sorry not to good at this posting picture thing, but its the red box that has acts as a harness with two wire going into it then it has another piece on the other side that screws on, that box broke so trying to bypass it, sorry no pic, I can try to upload one, but I think we're on the same page.

You should be able to unbolt it from your OEM cable and re-connect it to your new replacement cable.

You can't "bypass" it, that's the power block for some of your electronics IIRC.

Ok, if you click on this link, it will show you the Red box I'm talking about, it connects to the battery and it's plugs into the cable, this is what I want to replace.

You need to go to a photo hosting site, such as photobucket.com, and upload that picture, then get the image address after you upload.We can't see the pic from your computer, hehe.

Gotcha, but I was able to find the red box that is on the positive side of the battery at a junk yard, hook everything back up and now everytime I go to jump it the factory alarm will not stop sounding, why is this??
