Hey, I had the same problem last time i did my brakes. It is actually a simple fix rather then cutting it. Take the caliper slide off. Throw it in a wise. Put a wrench under neither the pin and pry up to use for leverage. Take some pliers and twist back and forth with the pliers while applying constant pressure up on the pin. If needed use some WD-40 and put it in the boot of the pin. Once you remove it, clean the pin and the grease and dip the pin in grease such as wheel bearing grease. I use the green grease since its waterproof. Then pack the boot with as much grease as you can. Keep putting the pin in and pushing on it to get the air out of the hole the refilling. It seems harder then it is. It just needs some good old fashion leverage.
