I don't recall anything about a 2001.5 ?? Nissan did do a 1999.5 with the 96-99 drivetrain, but with the 2000-2004 body style...

There we slight changes from 2000-2004. My old 2001 LE had a different radio, rims, steering wheel, key fob and key compared to my current 2002 LE.

Yes, there are 2001 and 2001.5. FSM says:

The SMART C/U - PREVIOUS is applicable for the 2WD models up to serial number 567231 and for the
4WD models up to serial number 584967.
I The SMART C/U - NEW is applicable for the 2WD models from serial number 567231 and for the 4WD
models from serial number 584967.

The differences are VERY minor (some wiring and electronics).

From the general information thread:
Q: How do I determine whether I have a 2001.0 or 2001.5 model year Pathfinder?
A: Check the manufacturing date of your Pathfinder on the driver door jamb. Dates before 08/00 are 2001.0 model years; after 08/00 are 2001.5 model years.

Q: What's the difference between 2001.0 and 2001.5 model year Pathfinders?
A: 2001.5 Pathfinders have revised spark plug coil packs to correct failures which plagued 2001.0 MY Pathfinders. Other than that, there is a newer smart entrance control unit in the latter half of the production of 2001.5 Pathfinders. If you're having a P1320 (ignition signal) engine code and have a 2001.0 Pathfinder, scroll down to the "Engine" section - there is a Q&A regarding possible fixes.

Your post doesn't say what 08/00 build dates are. My 08/00 PF has a VIN that indicates it's a 2001.0

Indeed, you're right. Perhaps through 08/00 is 2001.0 and anything after is 2001.5?

Or just go by the VIN.

Figured it out. Dates 01/01/2000-08/31/2000 are 2001.0 model years; 09/01/2000-06/03/2001 are 2001.5 model years.
