2001 or 2001.5 qx4?

I can see many posts on identifying a 2001 vs 2001.5 pathfinder..

Does anyone know the VIN range/numbers for a qx4?

Mine was built 08/00 and the vin is JNRDR09Y31W2113xx (last two digits omitted).

Or perhaps some other way that i can tell.

Did they not change the engine -- to the 3.5?

08/00 would be early in the 01 production.

I have the 3.5. however as ive been reading there is a generational difference in both the pathfinders and the QX4s

Pathfinder changes were 1999->1999.5->2001->2001.5

Im not sure what the QX4 changes were, but even the manual linked form the FAQ lists two separate entries for 2001 and 2001.5 (both of which are the 3.5, but other differences are there as im told, one mainly relating to the coil packs)

Maybe all the 2001's had the 3.5 .... When I bought my 2002 in December of 2001 I remember seeing the 3.5 badge on some vehicles and the sales guy telling me it was a used vehicle -- that some had the 3.5. The 2002's did not have the engine size badge.
