2001 nissan pathfinder alarm problem

ok so i drive a 2001 nissan pathfinder se 4x4 and a while back the alarm started to go off randomly while going down the road while in the drive way anytime the doors were locked and we noticed the doors would unlock and the alarm would go off we took it to the dealer and they said the computer was blown is there anything i can do besides replacing the computer? could i disconnect the alarm and if so does anyone know how?

Dont do it. Same thing happend to my 03 pathfinder. They quoted me 1400 dollers to fix it. I ended up just leaving my remot at home and it was fine. So i figured it was the remote and bought a new one online for under 50 buck programed it within 3 mins really easy and it worked just fine. I ended up getting an compustar alarm and remote start but the other remotes still works fine so ghve that a shot

My alarm crapped out 4 years ago on a 2001,the alarm works but not the remote,I'm assuming.Where did you find that programable remote?

There are a number of people selling remotes on e-bay.

With an '01 you have to be careful. There are two different remotes with the same FCC number. One is Model/A and I think the other is Model/A1. They MIGHT correspond to early and late. The Model/A is harder to find.

After 206,000 miles I think I'm using remotes 5 and 6. They seem to just get tired after a while.
