Hey! I'm a newb to the forums, and a real newb when it comes to Nissans. I own a 1995 Nissan Maxima & i'm wondering if the engine from the 2001's will fit into the 95's? Can anyone help me out with this question?

Yes it can fit. But the only major difference is the intake manifold. So unless your engine is blown I'd just swap the manifold. Google search 00vi swap and you'll find plenty of answers.

What alot of people do is debadge the trunk. Which is free if you have some fishing line and goo gone.

Bumper Lights are cheap. You could put on 97-99 clear lense headlights, look 1000x's better IMO and still has halfway decent light out put.

I don't really know much about cosmetics. My big cosmetic thing I guess is just keeping it clean as hell.

And 4th gen Maxima's are A32 btw.

Sounds good. I wonder if there's any halo projectors made for the 4th gens. That's crazy bro. I always thought it was an A32. But i was just going by what's on my VIN. I was told that we would go by what our chassis code reads out or what would be on my VIN. But bare with me. I'm still a newb to all this. So i took your advice & went google searching for the 00VI set up. looks like this has much potential to bring out the inner beast. I also read around the forums & i came across some useful info. I didn't know that Stillen makes lip kits for our cars. The front lip that they make looks pretty awesome. but i'm not too fond of the rest of the kit. Another question that i should probably ask you. What kind of lowering springs set up do you think would work better on the 4th gens?

If I was doing a lip it would be either the Stillen or iconic. But that's not on the drawing board for my plans.

As for intake manifolds. Theres the MEVI and 00VI. MEVI is easier to install but doesn't have the mid-range gains like the 00VI.

Springs. When I reach that point I'm going with the Progress Springs there about a 1.7/1.5 (f/r) coupled with Illumina shocks. I have a couple friends using Eibach/Illuminas and they like everything but its stiff for a DD. H&R is supposed to be a good DD spring also. But whatever you do please do it right the first time and upgrade the shocks to either Illuminas, AGX's, or Koni's don't use stock or stock replacements they'll only ride like a pogo stick and blow out.

If you plan on upgrading to a new motor then I would suggest a VQ35 from a 2002+ Maxima instead of the '01 VQ30......Unless you want to go FI and can find a Stillen V1 or V2 SC

2001 VQ30 has 220-227hp(AE)2002 VQ35 has 255hp

Stillen had a SC for the VQ30 but there is nothing for the VQ35.

right on fellas! the VQ 35 sounds good. So how difficult would i t be to drop in i wonder. You guys think it'll bolt right in or would i need to get some custome motor mounts and possibly another wiring harness? Where can i get the engine though? I know i want it in good shape used. Don't mind spending money on it but i deffinatly don't wanna sell a few limbs to get one. Can you guys offer me an idea on how much & used would run me....pocket book wise?

There's the swap info. That should help you out. It's a lot of work. Good luck if you do it.

right on man. i took a look at that link. alot of work is right. i sure as heck didn't expect all that... good news story though. got a pair of one piece front projectors & a pair of clear blinkers on the way. i plan on smoking them out. my buddy has a heat gun & all the proper paints & junk to smoke it out for me. next i'll be getting my rims and tail light lenses. found some nice "18's on ebay. 5 spoke, gun metal with a chrome lip, all 4, no tires for $350.00 shipped.

Yeah it's coming along, slowly but surely. Pics will be ready as soon as i can afford a camera lol or until i can find someone that's generous enough to let me use theirs hahaha. as for the wheels. Don't think i wanna throw them on just yet. I live in Colorado & it's crazy weather out here. Don't wanna harm the wheels. I figure i'd wait till summer. So what mods do you guys have done so far?
